The centre of Benissa is charming. The impressive Cathedral Purissima Xiqueta dominates the large town square. Wander through the narrow streets and feel how it was in the old days. On Saturday there is a weekly market. An ideal place for fresh products and clothes. Benissa has a catholic history. There is a pretty Franciscan monastery on the outskirts of the village.
The coastline of Benissa is 4km long and nestled between Moraira and Calpe. There are various beaches, coves and cliffs. La Fustera is the number one beach of Benissa. A small sandy beach popular with families. With all amenities for a perfect day at the sea. Another popular beach is Bassetes. Here you find Benissa´s Club Nautico and some nice restaurants. A good place for watersports like sailing, SUP and scuba diving. Click here to learn everything about the coves and beaches in Benissa.
A must do is a walk on the ecological path. An easy walk along the coast with lovely views on the crystal-clear water. Wooden panels next to the path explain the flora and fauna.
Benissa has its own 9 holes Golf Course in San Jaime.
During the year many activities take place. In January is the “Fira I Porrat de Sant Antonti”. More than 2 weeks of activities for the whole family. With animal blessing, a fairground, medieval market, devil fire dances and much more.
